Lead Client Engineer

At SEMC our engineering team challenges conventional practices and follows a variety of approaches in producing creative solutions to build touch screen games played by millions. We are the only studio that believes the mobile platform deserves the same quality as PC and Console games and we intend to build it ourselves!  Whether it’s working on large scale deployment, virtual cloud environments, computer graphics, gameplay programming, front-end features, tools development, in-game UI, web-enabled technologies, artificial intelligence, distributed computing, or databases; there is always a thought-provoking challenge for our engineers covering the full spectrum of computer science. Responsibilities:

  • Working on new and highly visible feature that directly impact the experience of our player base.

  • Interface daily with our founders, designers, and other engineers to design and implement the next big features the will shape the evolution of Vainglory as a game, eSport, and culture.

  • Modernize existing systems and implement complete new game features as required.

  • Gather feedback from the community team to constantly improve the fun factor in Vainglory and help bring it to the forefront of touch screen gaming.

  • Working in a collaborative, creative environment, team up with the designers to insure that their vision and your ability to enhance existing features and add new systems, extending an established code base.

Qualifications:

  • Solid engineering programming background in C++ as well as an understanding of common design patterns.

  • Previous experience developing high performing, visually rich user experiences in games.

  • Gamer at heart with a passion for building great features and communities.

  • Familiarity with GUI engines and their functionalities.

  • Bachelor level degree in CS or related field.

  • Strong organizational skills with a good sense of design and outstanding communication skills.

Plusses:

  • You have a deep interest in core gaming and an understanding of player behavior.

  • You have a strong eye for design and usability issues.

  • Experience with (or worked at) companies that operate one or more live services or games.
